THE  INTEGRITY  PROJECT

The Integrity Project   was the first of what was intended to be a series of public forums on the subject of integrity in private life and public life.  The Project  was designed to provide a public context in which those in the arts and professions might be able to step aside from their public roles and speak about their efforts to protect their integrity. That first event occurred at the Robson Square Media Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia on Wednesday March 27th 1985.  The three guest speakers were the artist and teacher Mr. Dennis Burton, Independent Member of the British Columbia Legislature Mr. Graham Lea, and the author and essayist Mr. David Watmough. Original music was composed by Barbara Fisher and performed by a quartet. The host and keynote speaker was Dr. John Banks, a philosopher. The purpose of this website is to describe the Project  and to make its content available to a wider audience. It will be expanded.  (January 30, 2004)
The Project was conceived, organized and funded by John Banks, and it was completely independent of any institution, organization, or interest group.   The texts of the talks were transcribed from tape and, except for the omission of one or two sentences from one presentation, there has been no editing.  Each of the participants retains all copyright protection of his or her own contribution, and each is entirely and solely responsible for its content.
